Happy New Moment

I have no New Year Resolutions.

Sweeping resolutions tend to get caught up with the dust bunnies as I go about cleaning the house.

So I sit here, melting wax.  Creating.

Don't get me wrong ... I'd love for 2012 to be the year, my year, where I find out who I am and my perfect niche to make me thousands of dollars and lose 10 pounds and....

I'm drowning before I get to the water.

Instead, one moment follows the next and I try to find myself in each one.  I practice not slipping into concerns about what was or fears about what might be.  This breath, this letter I type, this pressure I feel between my legs and the chair...this is my new year.  My new moment.  Each moment.

This moment.

p.s. Speaking of minding the moment, have you signed up for the Wild Elephant Project?  Learn moreHERE.
